Herculaneum is a one-of-a-kind archaeological site, exceptionally well preserved. The city was buried under 16 meters of ash and mud during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. This natural shield protected two-story buildings, preserving their structure, decorations, and materials such as wood and marble. Jewelry, coins, and even organic remains, including food, have been uncovered, providing an incredible glimpse into daily life in ancient Herculaneum.
To visit the museum, you must book your entry for a specific date and time. Choose a time slot, and your exact entry time will be assigned based on availability.
