A must-see in Rome, the magnificent Papal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore sits in the heart of the city and stands as one of Rome’s four major basilicas—a true treasure trove of art and spirituality. Step inside to be captivated by golden mosaics, stunning ceilings, and masterpieces that span centuries of history. Don’t miss the enchanting Sistine Chapel (distinct from the one in the Vatican Museums!) and discover the revered relic of the Cradle of Jesus. Every August 5th, witness the celebration of the legendary "miraculous snowfall" with a beautiful shower of white petals.
The audioguide also provides insights into areas of the Liberian Museum Complex typically closed to the public, such as the Loggia of Blessings, the Hall of Popes, and the Bernini Staircase. Please note that visiting these exclusive areas requires an additional entrance ticket, available at the Welcome Desk depending on availability.
Admission to the museum takes place at a specific date and time. Select the time slot from which the specific entry time will be selected based on the museum's availability.
PLEASE NOTE: The purchase of an entrance ticket with audioguide does not include access to the Liberian Museum Complex.
